Visas & Passports

Do I need a visa to travel to the U.S.A.?
Not normally - As long as you hold a full United Kingdom passport that is "machine readable" (computerised data in the inside back cover) you may enter under the Visa Waiver Programme.

Can my child travel to the U.S.A. on my passport?
No - Each child now travelling to the U.S.A. must have their own passport.

Is my passport expiry date too soon?

Airline Baggage

Will I have to pay extra to take my clubs on the flight?
Airlines are increasingly charging for golf clubs in the face of competition from low cost carriers.   Some airlines  now only allow one item of checked in baggage and then treat golf clubs as item of excess baggage for which they charge,  usually fixed amounts.  With some airlines you are still allowed to check-in two items of luggage per person and one of these can be a normal set of golf clubs in a suitable carrier. BUT it is essential you check your specific carrier's latest conditions.  New security measures and commercial pressures now mean that all baggage allowances are subject to regular revision.   We try to keep the links below as current as possible.

Why do you only provide holidays to Florida & South Carolina?
We specialise in these areas only because we believe that is the only we way can "really specialise". If we broaden our programme too much we will end as "Jack of all trades and masters of none". We are happy to help with flights, accommodation and car rental all over the U.S.A., but we cannot offer the same level of advice and recommendations we do for Florida & South Carolina.

Are the prices shown on the website the best you can offer?
Whilst we try to keep up to date with the latest US$ exchange rates and offer the best price for a specific departure date, we do have to make some assumptions and generalisations that mean an individual quotation tailored to your specific requirements will usually provide the most competitive price.

Quotation Terminology

What are Inclusive Prices?

Below the price of your airfare there will usually be a line stating your chosen accommodation, type of room, duration and the word "inclusive" or "inc." (due to space limitations).  Inclusive means the price includes accommodation and car rental for the duration (usually one week).  Sometimes golf will also be included.  Quite often we are asked if the cost of car rental is included, as, to be fair, it is often not that clear!  Any supplements shown further down the quotation for upgrades to cars are simply in addition to the cost of car rental that is already included in the inclusive holiday price.

What are Airline Fuel Surcharges?

Since the recent rise in the cost of aviation fuel the airlines have introduced a supplement which now forms part of the Airport Taxes and Duty.  This supplement is quite variable and subject to change at a later date.  Our brochure and online prices include a basic amount of airport tax (about £72), which is shown on your quotation as part of ?Inclusive Airfare and Airport Taxes?.  The amount for fuel surcharges is shown separately on our quotations and invoices as "Air Tax - Airline Fuel Surcharge".

What are Airline Buy-Up Supplements?

As an airline consolidator we have access to special wholesale fares, which we have to book into a specific booking class.  (These classes do not relate to seating classes such as Economy, Premium Economy or Business class.)  As these are especially good value fares, they are limited in number,  so when these are all sold we are given access to another booking class that are subject to a "buy-up" supplement.  These are simply a marketing exercise that means the cheapest fares are available to the earliest bookers.  Sometimes, though rarely, the airlines release more seats into the cheaper class at a later date.

What are US$ Exchange Adjustments?

When we calculate our brochure and online prices we use a fixed US$ exchange rate based on prevailing levels.  We purchase currency in advance where possible or practical to counteract future variations.  If there is a significant improvement in the US Dollar rate at the time of quoting for a holiday, and we are able to take advantage of this, we will offer a discount in the form of a US$ Exchange Adjustment.  This is subject to change until the time of making a firm booking.

We do appreciate that some of the terminology can be confusing so please do not hesitate to ask if anything is unclear.
